Respecting Perspectives
The Courage To Redefine What Matters With AwallArtist
What if the one question you’re avoiding is the key to momentum: are you having fun? Not the quick-hit, scroll-and-forget kind of fun, but the deep, sustaining kind that makes long nights in the studio feel like a privilege. This solo reset is a candid walk through creativity, connection, and what it takes to turn today’s “impossible” into tomorrow’s normal.
We start with the pressure of expectations—algorithms, rollout plans, and the myth of doing it all—then strip it back to what actually moves the work forward. I talk about letting my guard down, why certain people bring out better versions of me, and how to build bridges that turn into real collaboration. We dive into redefining success on your own terms, making a short list of what truly matters, and using a respectful refresh when the list gets noisy. There’s a video shoot, a growing album plan, and a reminder that every big win is a stack of small, consistent steps.
If social content has you overwhelmed, I share a pragmatic way to choose formats that match your voice, repurpose moments you’re already living, and maintain a cadence that protects the spark. We also explore how “fun” evolves across life stages and why treating fun as a strategic resource—not a guilty pleasure—can keep your craft resilient. By the end, you’ll have a clearer lens for energy, a gentler definition of success, and a prompt to name your next “impossible.”
If this resonated, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs a reset, and drop a review with your current definition of fun. Your words help this community grow and keep the conversation honest.

Mm. How you feeling? Me too. Me too.
SPEAKER_01:This is a solo episode, which we have not done in a minute. I kind of miss the uh the solo episodes. I really get to uh you know get a lot of thoughts out and um just kind of talk out loud, you know. That's all this is. I'm just a little bit of talking out loud. Um man, I'm so excited to be back in the watermelon room and getting some conversations going and bringing people in who you know really have a story to tell, and it's cool to be able to connect with them on a level that um supersedes just you know normal, just like human interaction. Yeah, it's pretty cool. You know, sometimes you have to, sometimes you gotta let your guard down a little bit, you know, let the right things in. And uh you're gonna learn that there will be times when you, I mean, and you know, these are just things that worked for me. You know, not not all the same things that help me get through uh challenges or problems will uh, you know, will help you, but uh I think it's worth uh a try, and it's it's cool to be able to just hear a different a different world that you've never been to, you know. We all live like these like individualized lives, but it's like you know, part of like this bigger thing, you know.
SPEAKER_03:Makes you think about just like all the possibilities.
SPEAKER_01:Like what is possible to you, you know? There could be things like in your life that like you thought were impossible, you know. And then you surprise yourself I mean think when you were a kid, you probably thought about you know, when you were gonna be older, like like adults, and you you were like, man, like I don't think I'll ever be able to do that. You know, and then you end up doing something in your own lane or similar, and it's like Yeah, there's times when things feel impossible, you know. But you know, you keep carving away at your craft and resonating with people around you that are like-minded and help you, you know, they bring out like the best in you. You know, you got some people, there's like you got this group of people who bring out like this side of you, you know, and then you got this group of people who kind of brings out this side of you, and you want to try and bring, you know, the same energy every time. Or or you don't, right? Like, what do I know, dude? I mean, I try and give the things that are important to me the most energy.
SPEAKER_03:But it's hard to figure out what those things are, you know.
SPEAKER_01:You gotta make a make a list of them. And then the list gets gets like crazy long, and you're like, you know, you got this list, and there's like 20 things on it that keep repeating, and you gotta, there's times when you really you just gotta hit that refresh, you know. You gotta give yourself the respect to refresh. It's fire. The next album, respect to refresh. Sometimes you just need that that that refresh, that fresh start. I think people get so comfortable with like this idea that continues and travels with them of like what uh successful might be, you know, and you have to you really have to, you know, question that sometimes. Like, what is the when when I had my mom on the podcast, go check that episode out right here somewhere. And uh, you know, we really were it was it's cool to be able to just like connect with somebody who you like really do understand, and it helps you, gosh, it just helps you connect with people on a different level, you know, and I'm I'm so grateful for the connections that I've made in my life, you know. Um it's something that I am super proud of, and uh I'm always trying to build those, you know, just start out as like little bridges, and then they become these, you know, huge things, and we had a video shoot yesterday, and like the days leading up to it, I was a little bit uh flustered by the amount of things that you can, you know, create on on social media itself to you know to get either your music out or like your vision out, you know, and uh I was feeling a little overwhelmed, but I had to sit and and I and I spoke with a a really good friend of mine, and she said, You just want to question, like, are you having fun? You know, and like it's really simple, actually. And yeah, you really have to ask yourself, and and you know, there's gonna be times where you're you're gonna say no. Um I know it sounds uh it sounds simple, but it's uh it's a great question to ask yourself every now and then. Yeah, it's it's it's pretty cool to be able to put some of these pieces together, you know, and get a bunch of cool people to just sit down and you know, an opportunity for me to get to understand what somebody else is going through. And I hope this has helped some of y'all in a way that maybe it it could or couldn't do for me, you know.
SPEAKER_03:Um just out here trying.
SPEAKER_01:I got an uh album coming out in a few months, so we're working on that. I mean, by the time you hear this, let's see here, uh probably a few, you know, maybe a month, month or two out. Um yeah, I'm gonna be got a got a pretty pretty solid uh release plan and um just working with some some of the guys from the team to try and get all these pieces put together. You know, uh I will not lie, it is a lot more than uh I uh I don't know, maybe like what I thought an artist was uh was gonna be or gonna require. But um, you know, they're they end up just being just small challenges that you have to, you know, figure out that you have to get over, small little little hills that you gotta get over. And then sometimes, you know, you meet a mountain and you come down a man. Jot that down, put that in the memory book. Um, yeah, you know, it's pretty uh it's pretty cool. I hope I hope all y'all are are you know figuring out yourselves and you know questioning if you're having fun. Just like understanding like what fun is, you know? Like what is your definition of fun? I mean, I would say my definition of fun is like being able to get to do something that you love as a profession. I mean, that that's my version of fun. I mean, I, you know, it changes as you get. I mean, like probably the eight-year-old me would have been like, you know, put on some like rollerblades and go to like skate lane or something like that, but it's kind of changed, you know. High school is like, you know, going out with the boys like to the mall or some shit. Yeah, it's always changing. I think that's the cool part too. It's like it helps you define it, you know, it helps you make new bars for what fun is, you know? And uh it's cool to be able to just like create your own fun, you know, and I think that's what it should be. But it's uh it proves a little bit tougher than uh the question itself. Um but you know, we're able to sit set this little stage up here. Hit him with that, hit him with that high shot real quick. I mean, come on, come on, dog. What are you doing? We got six cameras in here. Now it's cool to be able to really just like get the ideas out and the the information that I have, you know, to so many different levels.
SPEAKER_03:And uh yeah, I I never thought anything like this was even possible. You know, back to the origination. I first what I thought was impossible is possible now. Done. What's my new version of impossible?
SPEAKER_01:And that'll be on the next one. Alright, thank y'all for joining me. Another solo little episode, little, you know what I mean? Put that one in the envelope and I stuck it under your door real quick, you know. Little stamp on there. Uh, I hope y'all are well, taking care of yourselves, treating yourselves with the utmost respect.
SPEAKER_00:And this is say it, say it at home. Respecty perspective. Everything's gonna be alright.
